Math

Kia Ora, readers

This week I have been practising and working on my coordinate skills and refreshing up my mind. I have also been re-visioning on my compass directions and how to remember them. An easy way to remember your compass directions is the phrase ” Never eat soggy weatbix”. This is a popular saying that I know so that I can remember the order of the compass directions. The actual order of the compass directions is north, east, south and west. I have gotten the photo of the grid from oxford maths where my teacher assigned us an interactive to do. I was in the middle of doing the interactive when I decided to take a screenshot.

Some of my classmates had blue headphones but they are very grateful. We are looking forward to seeing KPMG next year. Thank you for the gift for me. I felt bad for my other friends that got blue headphones. I really love being with KPMG, especially the gifts you guys delivered to me.

Thank you KPMG.

Math

In this task I had created a DLO based on what maths I have been practising this week or few weeks. I have been working on a chance for around 2 weeks now, the first week was on basic chance and imagining stuff. The second week was about experiments and experimenting with coins to see if our predictions were correct. We used a dice, coin and a make shift spinner numbered from 1-4 to get our results and see if our predictions were correct. My predictions with the coins were correct, but my prediction for the dice and spinner were wrong. They were wrong because there were multiple slides/ parts like there are 6 parts on the dice and 4 parts on the spinner, while the coin only had 2 sides.

Real or fake?

Task Description: In this task I have created a piece of fake news based on whanau fun day. I have been practising how to identify fake news by making our own piece of fake news. We created a fake story about what happened at whanau fun day, for me I created a story about a tiger running loose interrupting the whanau fun day. I have created a small blurb explaining the picture I have created. There were originally a few arrows to tell me recommendations on what to do, though I have deleted them so you can see the picture clearly.

For the overall structure of the fake news was just a template from the original cyber smart activity and I have filled it in to look like a legitimate website though it doesn’t look too real. I have done my best to make the picture seem real and have circled the tiger with bright red so you can easily spot it.

Ice Cream reflection

Talofa Readers

This week, room 1, room 2 and room 3 get to make our flavored ice cream in our group. My group made matcha and strawberry because all the people in my group love that flavor of Ice cream, so I bought the matcha. It was super fun making our ice cream, others made cookies and cream, others made banana flavor. Only two groups that did cookies and cream.

I am blogging about our reflection, so here is what me and my buddy create on google drawing. There is some reflection there for you to know.

Thank you readers for reading my blog.

Module 5

Talofa readers

This week me and my group was working on module 5. For me it was pretty easy because the questions were pretty easy to answer and simple. We picked cookies and cream because it was yummy. Some people pick strawberry+banana and I think they are good for other people in my class.

Cybersmart – Creating Images

Kia Ora, readers

In this task I have used an online drawing website called “kleki”, I made an abstract or I think it is an abstract image using 3 different types of brushes from the website. I made a few flowers to add personality in this image, I actually like the way it turned out and I don’t regret adding the flowers. I looked on google for a few inspiration pictures so that I can make some proper abstract art and nothing random. Modern art nowadays just looks like a bunch of shapes so this abstract art wasn’t hard to make. I really am happy with how this turned out.

Module 1: Scoop

Kia Ora readers

This term our inquiry focus is based on ice cream. I am actually very glad that we can do ice cream because I think we are going to make ice cream. We are doing one module or section for each week and there are 6 modules. We are going to keep doing modules for 6 weeks. We are currently growing bacteria to see how dirty the table, our hands and the door knob. This is really fun to do and the modules explain to us everything about ice cream and caught my interest easily.

Swimming

Kia Ora readers.

I have made a collage with swimming photos from last weeks swimming lesson. One of the scariest thing I did was jump off the high platform since I am very scared of heights. I enjoyed the swimming lesson though we only have 1 hour to swim. We went with room 3 to the massey swimming pools and we got separated into various different groups. I was split up with my friend in group A. All groups get rotated around to different teacher who taught us different skills in water.
